IF IN DOUBT please contact us.
If at any time you smell gas please open the windows, evacuate the area then call Southern Gas Networks (SGN) on 0800 111 999.
Around three quarters of heating system failures are not boiler breakdown. They are simply due to the boiler protecting itself by going into shutdown mode due a loss of pressure from the pipework and radiators in the property. You can often get the system to restart once it has had pressure put back into it. This is usually a simple process and the following videos demonstrate how it is done with some popular boiler types.
Instructions: How-to guides and videos for boiler repressurisation
Please note that a loss of pressure is usually due to an underlying pipework fault such as a leaking radiator valve. Repressurising may only get the system running for a short time until the pressure is lost again. If this happens, you can repressurise again to get your heating back on but you should also book a service call with us so that we can investigate the cause.
